Non-Pharmacologic (Non-Drug) Strategy Against Obesity And Its Associated Diseases.
Mice that are restricted to eating to 8 hours a day eat just as much as mice who are allowed to eat around the clock, yet they are protected against obesity and other metabolic conditions such as hyper-insulinemia, report investigators in La Jolla at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the University of California San Diego, as reported in the Journal of Cell Metabolism, 2012.
The time restricted regimen had positive effects on metabolic pathways and improved nutrient utilization and energy expenditure.
This discovery indicates that time-restricted eating may be an effective non-pharmacological strategy against obesity and related diseases.
Research has already showed that night time eaters end up consuming more calories and having weight issues. So a good strategy is to limit eating to eight hours in the day. Try to eat your dinner early in the day rather than late in the night.
